A DISCUSSION on scientific discoveries in both the Hindu and Jewish traditions will take place next month.
Organised by the Hindu and Jewish Association of Manchester, the event will take place at on 11 November at Geoffrey Manton (New Humanities) Building, the Manchester Metropolitan University on Rosamond Street West.
The following two speakers will throw more light on the richness of scientific discoveries in the Hindu and Jewish traditions, Dr Nawal Prinja, technical Director working in the nuclear industry and co-chair of the InterFaith Forum and Jonathan Davis, lawyer by profession and a well known scholar of Judaism.
A spokesperson for the event said: "Hindu and Jewish people have been known for their aspiration to education, respect for knowledge and intellectual activity. In both traditions intellectual professions have been traditionally recognized as more prestigious.
"Hindus in ancient India invented numerals, zero, decimal and much more. In the modern world, Jews have the largest proportion of Nobel Laureates. Among all Nobel Laureates there are about 23 per cent Jews while the Jewish population in the world is only 0.2 per cent."
