A DOCTOR who witnessed the misery caused by catastrophic flooding in India has launched an appeal to aid victims.
Sale cardiologist Dr Rajay Narain, 33, spent three days in the eastern province of Bihar helping people in the country's worst flooding in 50 years.
Hundreds died and up to three million people were displaced by monsoons in August.
Dr Narain, originally from Bihar, has set up the Bihar Foundation to bring medical aid and food to victims of the flood.
He said: "The situation is pathetic for many from 500 villages that were flooded. We found scores of children lying in the streets in dire need of help."
