SUDDEN Community Centre in Rochdale was packed out at an open day to show off the centre’s facilities.

Over 200 people went along to the Cheltenham Street centre to take a look along with MP Paul Rowen and the mayor, Councillor Robin Parker.

Representatives from the women’s group, youth group and the cookery class were among those giving demonstrations of their activities.

There was also face painting, a bouncy council, henna painting and palm reading on offer.

Mohammed Zaman from the centre said: "We were only expecting there to be about 100 people so it was very successful day.

"The whole idea was to encourage more people to come forward and make suggestions of ways to use the centre."

"The suggestions included a new lunch time club, playgroup and regular coffee mornings, so we are looking into those."
