IMAGES of a fraudster who drained more than £263,000 from a bank account have been released in a fresh bid to catch him.
In July 2007, a man went into NatWest on Yorkshire Street and claimed to have an account with the bank.
He managed to fraudulently access someone else's bank account and withdrew the money. The CCTV images were of a meeting the suspect had with the bank, requesting a withdrawal, followed by the transaction itself four days later.
Det Sgt Darren Grafton said: "This has been a long and complex investigation, but we cannot stop our inquiries until the people behind this are caught, and this substantial amount of money is recovered.
"We know that this was a long time ago, but in order to take our inquiries to the next stage, we now need the public's help.
"We are appealing to people in Oldham if they recognise the man in our images, and if you do, please get in touch."
A 27-year-old man arrested in connection with the incident is on police bail. Anyone with information can call police on 0161 856 8951 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
