Web marriage
30/ 7/2007
A LEADING fundamentalist Islamic school has given the green light to on-line marriages.
The Darul Uloom Deoband in the north Indian state of Uttar Pradesh has blessed two marriages that took place with the bride and groom connected only via web cams.
The Deoband school said both bride and bridegroom must have two witnesses.
The Deoban school has a hard line on gender issues. Last month it issued a decree saying girls should not attend co-educational schools or colleges.
