Ramadan is a time of giving

The Ramadhan Foundation congratulates and sends warm greetings to all on the start of the Islamic holy month of fasting, Ramadan. This month is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar and is when Muslims fast from sunrise to sunset for a whole month, during this month there is prayers, contemplation, giving of charity and goodness spread towards all fellow human beings.
Ramadan is a time of reflection and pray, a great opportunity to be thankful for what has been given and for taking the time to give in return. This special occasion reminds us all, Muslim and non-Muslim, that we all are part of the same great human family; that we all deserve respect and that we are all worthy to live free of tyranny and oppression in a just and peaceful world.
The Ramadhan Foundation wants to extend our best wishes and prayers to all Muslims on the start of the holy month of Ramadan and affirmation of our commitment to peaceful co-existence in a multi cultural society in the United Kingdom.
There are many people across the world that is suffering from war, famine, poverty or unemployment and as Ramadan is a time of giving we would urge people to donate generously to worthy causes across the world, this year we are pleased to encourage everyone to support Islamic Relief (www.islamic-relief.com)
Islam is very much a part of UK history and multi-cultural society, the UK should celebrate the successes and contributions of Muslims and that’s why the Foundation is working to promote peaceful coexistence with all communities.
