Can Islamic banks help?

26/ 9/2008

With the whole international banking system seemingly in crisis, I wonder if Islam's Shariah banking could offer a practical alternative?

Perhaps our Chancellor of the Exchequer, Alistair Darling, could ask the Muslim Council of Britain to look into this - it might be a novel way of saving the Bank of Scotland and certainly could do no harm.

Sincerely, John Eoin Douglas
