A poem for Gandhi

IN commemoration of Gandhi Day, I thought your readers would like this poem written by me.


Imagine, day in this world.
No cows being slaughtered.
No pig or goat or lamb being butchered.
No chicken head severed.
No fish out of water.
No eggs broken - just for one day!
A day - no wars being fought anywhere.
No one being killed or assassinated.
No one being raped or abused.
No foetus being aborted.
All civil wars take pause.
A Mecca of disarmament and friendship!
A day - no bird being shot at.
No animals being tortured in medical labs.
No hunting in the forests.
The sound of nature replaces the sound of firearms.
No trees being logged.
No weapons being tested.
No guns or arms being sold.
All army or guerrilla training stopped.
Why? Because it's a day of non violence!
A day to feel the joy of co-existence!
