Fund the child not the daycare
1/ 8/2007
The Convention on the Rights of the Child affirms that a child has the right to be raised in the culture, language and religion of the parents, and in the presence of their parents wherever possible. The parents have the right to choose the care style that matches their priorities.
Sadly when we talk of pressuring all parents to use 3rd party care and don't help fund parental care, we do face the dilemma. We are either going to deprive some ethnicities of their rights or face an astronomical bill for providing childcare in many languages. Solution? Fund the child not the daycare.
Empower parents to choose the care location they really want-
daycare or home-based or family or friends. Everybody
wins.
