Alice Mannion

FORMER slipper worker at J H Hirst’s, Waterfoot, for 40 years Miss Alice Mannion, of Greenmeadows Nursing Home, Newchurch, died at Fairfield Hospital, Bury, on Thursday 3 July, aged 85.

She used to live at Bridleway and was a member of St Peter’s RC Church, Newchurch. She enjoyed bingo and going to Wells Street Working Men’s Club.

Miss Mannion leaves her brother Jack, sisters Maureen, Mary and Eileen, sisters-in-law Anne and Joan, many nieces and nephews.

Her funeral was on Thursday 10 July when Father Philip Boast celebrated Requiem Mass at St Joseph with Peter’s RC Church before cremation at Burnley. Family flowers with donations to the RNIB c/o funeral director: Dawn Johnson for Fred Hamer Funeral Service, Rawtenstall.
