FORMER shopkeeper Mrs Olive Ainsworth, of Turfcote Nursing Home, Haslingden, died on Wednesday 2 July, aged 100.
Mrs Ainsworth used to live at Newchurch Road, Rawtenstall, and celebrated her 100th birthday on 18 June when the Mayor of Rossendale Councillor Christine Gill, pictured, came to wish her well.
She kept Rawtenstall Market cafe for 40 years and also had a cake stall at Rawtenstall and a confectioners shop in Haslingden.
She was also a member of the sisterhood at Longholme Methodist Church, Rawtenstall.
She leaves two cousins in America and several friends.
Her funeral was on Wednesday 9 July when the Rev Roy Nichols led prayers at the chapel of rest followed by cremation at Burnley. Donations were welcome for Cancer Research UK or Derian House Children’s Hospice.
