Marie Whittaker

A MEMBER of a Beverley Sisters’ tribute band the 3Ms, Mrs Marie Whittaker, of Haslingden Old Road, Rawtenstall, died peacefully at home, aged 72.
After marrying Alan she moved to Nigeria where she was a voluntary teacher in a primary school.
Mrs Whittaker was a member of the Rossendale Luncheon Club, a former committee member of the NSPCC in Rosendale, did assorted voluntary work including meals on wheels and raised funds for charity through the singing group.
She enjoyed crown green bowling, travelling the world and was very well-known in Rawtenstall.
Wife of the late Alan and mother of the late Ian, she leaves her daughter Gillian, son-in-law Richard and granddaughters Danielle and Sophie.
Her funeral was on Thursday 2 October when the Rev Martin Short led a service and cremation at Accrington. Family flowers only with donations to Diabetes Research and Derian House c/o funeral director: Dawn Johnson for Fred Hamer Funeral Service, Rawtenstall.
