Search for Britain’s next urban superstar comes to Manchester

23/ 7/2008

THE search is on for Urban Music Awards 'Britain’s Next Urban Superstar' when its nationwide hunt comes to The Trafford Centre this weekend.

A unique, private recording booth will be installed into Foot Locker - who are sponsors of the Urban Music Awards.

The booth will be at the Manchester store for three exclusive days of auditioning for hopefuls reluctant to pitch their talent in front of shrewd judges. Instead, they can record their entry individually or as a group whilst checking out the latest sneakers fit for an urban superstar.

On Saturday 26th July from 12pm, Drase, Manchester’s premier beat boxer, will also be performing his latest work outside Foot Locker by the Great Hall entrance of the Trafford Centre. Local break-dancers will also be free styling to the latest urban tunes, lending a little inspiration to the locals.

A selection of the most talented, and the most entertaining, auditions will be shown exclusively on www.footlocker.eu/uma.

Successful auditions could qualify for the televised heats, to be broadcast weekly on Flava TV - Sky channel 357, Channel U and Invincible TV online.

The winner of the talent search will be presented with the coveted Foot Locker ‘Britain’s Next Urban Superstar’ award at The Urban Music Awards ceremony hosted on 1st November, 2008.

The lucky competition winner to be crowned ‘Britain’s Next Urban Superstar’ will be awarded a series of prizes to support their talent including £5,000, a chance to perform at the UMA’s, exposure on a television show, a one year recording contract, 12 month recording studio time, a music video, Foot Locker vouchers and, of course, a prestigious Urban Music Award.

The booth will be availavle for audrionng between 25-27 July between 11am – 8pm. For more information visit www.footlocker.eu
