Revamp suits mood at Cafe

IF like CityLife you laughed yourselves sick when the Arctic Monkeys (pictured) turned up at this year's Brit Awards wearing the tweed attire of well-to-do country gentlemen, you'll be pleased to know that they've found their way on to a wall in Manchester.

Having made several new additions to its massive memorabilia archive of more than 70,000 items, Hard Rock Cafe has decided to display the suits at its newly refurbished Printworks restaurant alongside a host of other newly-acquired collectables.

Liam Gallagher's 1955 Gibson, used on Oasis' Don't Believe The Truth album, will adorn the restaurant's walls alongside guitars played by Kurt Cobain and KISS's Paul Stanley, a Sixities oriental tea-pot and matching goblets from John Lennon's Kenwood home, a Red Hot Chili Peppers skateboard, Prince's rectangular electronic drum and a note from George Harrison to one-time Beatles bassist Stuart Sutcliffe.

Jackets once belonging to Elvis Presley, Queen's drummer Roger Taylor and Black Sabbath's Tony Iommi, Ray Charles' custom-made tuxedo coat, Elton John's suit and Natasha Bedingfield's golden Grammy dress make up the rest of the latest threads on display.
