Epic MAHAABHAARAT set to air in the UK

POPULAR Hindi channel 9X is all set to air its epic series kahaani hamaaray MAHAABHAARAT ki in the UK.

Starting today, the series will air Monday to Thursday at 10 pm on the channel which can be found on BSkyB channel no 828.

Founder & CEO of INX Media, Indrani Mukerjea said: "Mahaabhaarat, arguably the greatest epic of all times, is at the root of India’s culture, and we are delighted to bring kahaani hamaaray MAHAABHAARAT ki to the UK. Considering its global relevance, 9X will air the series with English subtitles and we are confident that English as well as Hindi speaking audiences will enjoy this magnificent story."

Ekta Kapoor, Creative Director of Balaji Telefilms, producer of the series for 9X, said: "Although Mahaabhaarat as a story is thousands of years old, it is very applicable and relevant to today’s day and age.  Kahaani hamaaray MAHAABHAARAT ki has been made for a wider audience – not just for Indians living in India but all over the world, and I am delighted that 9X is taking this great epic story to TV viewers in the UK.

Shot on a truly epic scale with spectacular sets and in locations such as Ladakh, Jaipur and Wai in India, 9X's MAHAABHAARAT features an array of television stars including Ronit Roy, Sakshi Tanwar, Aryan Vaid, Chetan Hansraj, Akashdeep Saigal, Anita Hassanandani, Rakshanda Khan and Makrand Deshpande, along with exciting new talent.

With a powerful, well researched script and costumes by Manish Malhotra that do not fall into a ‘mytho’ stereotype, 9X’s MAHAABHAARAT has been created for today’s generation and the series is being shot on High Definition format for the first time.

kahaani hamaaray MAHAABHAARAT ki also starts in Tamil today on leading South Indian channel, Raj TV from 7pm-7.30pm weekdays.
