MATRIX producer Barrie Osborne is embarking on a new project - a $150million film about the life of the Prophet Muhammed.

The biopic has been backed by Qatar-based media entertainment company, Alnoor Holdings who will have prominent Sheikh Yusuf Al-Qaradawi to oversee all aspects of the shoot.

In accordance with Islamic law, the prophet will not actually be depicted on screen.

The aim of the film is to educate people about the real meaning of Islam and will chart Muhammad's life and examine his teachings.

Chairman of Alnoor Holdings, Abdullah Al-Mustafa,  told the Doha-based Al-Jazeera television: “It will highlight the humanity of Prophet Muhammad.”
