Dard-e-disco dancing fever makes temperature rise

26/ 2/2008

BRACE yourselves for the biggest Bollywood appearance on TV this year, as King of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan, dances his way onto television screens this Saturday night as a guest onStar Plus's Nach Baliye.

Bollywood Badshah, Shah Rukh will pay homage to the era of sassy 70’s Bollywood and his 2007 superhit, Om Shanti Om on Nach Baliye - India’s answer to the hit BBC 1 dance show Strictly Come Dancing.

The legendary Bollywood showman will lead the celebrity dance partners in an electrifying performance of Om Shanti Om’s iconic title track, in what promises to be the most spectacular show in the series so far.

High-energy dance spectacle, Nach Baliye, captures the drama and emotional journey of 10 celebrity couples from the small and silver screen through a high powered dance-off competition, where they compete to impress three A-list celebrity judges - the sensational actress Isha Koppikar, ace director David Dhawan and promising choreographer Vaibhav Merchant – with their Bollywood jhatkas. This year, the show also features special performances and appearances by Bollywood’s glitterati, such as this weekend’s appearance by King Khan.

The stakes are high this year with the theme being "Yeh Nach Nahin Aasaan" (Dance is Far From Easy), and so the show tests the dancing mettle of each celebrity couple to the limits.

The ten celebrity couples competing, which include Raakhi Sawant, Kashmeera Shah, Shakti Kapoor and Pooja Bedi, have teamed up with up-coming choreographers to compete against each other for the grand prize.

Each week, the couples have to perform on challenging themes, which test their dancing skills and their choreographer's imagination.

Nach Baliye with the one and only Shah Rukh Khan will be broadcast on STAR Plus on Saturday 1st March 2008 at 9.00pm.
