King Khan honoured with lifetsyle award

CELEBRATED Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan received the prestigious Dubai Lifestyle City Lifestyle Award 2008 at the Zee Cine Awards ceremony held at Excel Docklands Arena in London last week.
The award was presented to Shah Rukh Khan by managing director, Dubai Lifestyle City, Arif Rahman at a glittering event watched by thousands of Bollywood fans.
Constituted by Dubai Lifestyle City, a luxury lifestyle project at Dubailand in Dubai, the award honours and recognises an Indian screen star for their overall contribution to promote and inspire haute living and the actor’s outstanding, creative, innovative and visionary leadership in the industry.
Presenting the award to Shah Rukh, Arif Rahman said: "Shah Rukh Khan is well known for his versatile talent, style and charisma. A heartthrob of millions of fans, he is an epitome of lifestyle and a role model for upcoming stars in the industry. As of today, he is one of the most popular Bollywood stars, internationally recognised for outstanding performances in many successful movies."
Arif Rahman added, "The award juries carefully assessed the career graph of a number of nominees as to how his/her contribution has been unique, involving breaking of old barriers and setting new standards before selecting Shah Rukh as the winner. Dubai Lifestyle City is proud to honour this ‘King of Silver Screen’ with this Lifestyle Award."
On receiving the Lifestyle award, a surprised Shah Rukh said: "This award was a surprise to me. I am not aware why this is given to me, but I feel like a kid when it comes to awards as I accept it happily. I have heard of Dubai Lifestyle City and the good work that they are doing. It is an honour to receive this award"
