Indian 'Oscars' to be broadcast on Star

STAR Plus will be broadcasting the spectacular Bollywood Oscars in two weeks.
The ninth Idea IIFA Awards 2008, the original celebration of Indian cinema, took place in the amazing city of Thailand, Bangkok and featured eclectic and electrifying performances by leading Indian cine stars including Govinda, Katrina Kaif, Kareena Kapoor and Akshay Kumar who set the stage on fire.
STAR will bring to TV screens all the glitz and glamour from the prestigious ceremony along with footage from the green carpet which was graced by stars including Amitabh, Abhishek and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Shilpa Shetty, Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Dino Morea, Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor to name but a few.
Nominations at this year’s event saw a host of personalities from the Indian film fraternity battle it out for the coveted industry awards.
Amongst the applauds, cheers and thank you speeches, Idea IIFA Awards 2008 was witness to scintillating performances from the night and also saw electrifying acts from the Mission Istanbul team Vivek Oberoi, Zayed Khan, Shriya Saran, Shweta Bhardwaj, Shabbir Ahuluwalia and Niketan Dhir and Love Story 2050 couple Priyanka Chopra and Harman Baweja choreographed to immaculate perfection by Shiamak Dhavar.
To up the fun quotient to the already dazzling night, Boman Irani and Ritesh Deshmukh played the perfect hosts and kept the audience in fits of laughter. Urmilla Matondkar gave the boys company, adding the oomph factor.
