MICHAEL Jackson is one of the most influential figures to have emerged in the past 40 years of pop.

So a production celebrating his music – and that of the Jackson 5 – is bound to be exciting.

That’s just what’s expected when Thriller Live hits town next week. At Manchester’s Palace Theatre for four dates – Wednesday to Saturday – the show is aptly timed to coincide with the 25th anniversary of his epic album, Thriller.

Jackson has been an iconic figure since he joined his brothers in the family pop group at the age of seven, starting a music showbiz career spanning more than four decades.

Thriller Live presents more than two hours of hit songs – from I Want You Back and I’ll Be There to Blame It on the Boogie and Earth Song.

Zoe Birkett,one of the youngest-ever contestants on Pop Idol and ultimately fourth-placed behind Will Young, Gareth Gates and Darius Danesh, is a principal singer in this multimedia stage and video spectacular.

There’s dazzling choreography from MTV award winner LaVelle Smith Jnr, and the kind of pace to leave the audience breathless.
