Big night for Asian Music Awards

It was a big night for the UK Asian music scene as fans and industry representatives gathered at the Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall for the UK Asian Music Awards.

With West End star Preeya Kalidas and B4U Music VJ Salil presenting, the stage played host to some of the UK’s most talented Asian artists and an array of celebrity guest presenters including Grammy nominated Daniel Bedingfield, Panjabi singer Juggy D, director Gurinder Chadha, UK RnB group Fundamental 03, Syed Ahmed and Ghazal from apprentice, Grand Prix driver Adam Khan and many more.

Audiences were treated to performances by North American hip hop artist Blitzkrieg, Roachkilla with Surinder Rattan, D-Boy featuring Swiss and V Dubl E, Dutch singer Imran Khan, RnB sensation Jay Sean, singer-songwriter Karen David, Punjabi singer Lehmber Hussainpuri, Punjabi Hit Squad featuring Alyssia, the Shaanti Collective with The Kalyan, Sona Family, Bollywood producers Trickbaby and Rishi Rich closed the show with a special performance with Veronica, Mumzy and H Dhami.

Jon Hale, of the Nashi Media Group, which breathed new life in to the UK Asian Music Awards, believes that UK Asian Music will continue to grow in importance in the years to come.

He said: "Tonight does mark a major watershed in the development of Asian music.

"UK musicians are now seen as amongst the most creative and influential – and we will give them all the support in the World to help make it happen for them."

B4U Music, the official presenting partner for the event will be televising the event later this month on 23 March, featuring all the excitement from the stage and celebrity interviews.

On the partnership, Bala Iyer, Head of Business B4U Network Europe says, "We believe that B4U Music plays a pivotal role in the Asian music industry worldwide, therefore we were pleased to be involved with this event that promotes and celebrates the talent in UK and abroad."
