VAISAKHI - The Birth of Khalsa - released by Three Records

This is a unique and outstanding album featuring a massive range of bhangra artists who have come together to produce not just any peice of work but have created a very 'special dharmik album'.

'Vaiskahi' uses music as the medium to move and educate listeners by uniquely presenting the historical events of Vaisakhi in a lively and exclusive style.

Artists including RDB (pictured), Manak-e, NS Chauhan, Harjog Singh, and Sangra Vibes have united musically and lyrically to present a ground-breaking sacred album dedicated to the Sikh holy day.

Musically, the project has been produced by the RDB brothers who now reside in both the UK and Canada.

RDB's Kuly said that the album took up to six months to record. The results produced are surprisingly good.

'The 10 Masters' number gives information on all of the Sikh Gurus, this is one of our favourite tracks as it allows the younger generation to understand about Sikh Gurus in a modern musical language.

Another track that stood out is "Udhaar" featuring a half Punjabi and half Afghanistani rapper. This was appealing because it wasn't your traditional holy song that your grandparents will listen to.

The tracks have captured some of the golden moments from history allowing us from the younger generation to get access to the rich history of the Sikh community. Worth putting this unique album in your basket! Happy listening!
