Wife Swap wants to represent Muslims
24/11/2006
MAKERS of the hit show Wife Swap are looking for a Muslim family to feature in their new series.
For the first time the team at RDF Production would like to adapt
the format of the show to accommodate the Islamic faith and make it
more appealing for Muslim families to apply.
Producers hope that a multi-cultural swap could take place within
the laws of Islam and the best way to achieve this they say is to
hear directly from the Muslim community in the UK.
A spokesperson for RDF said: "We are very keen to feature a Muslim
family on Wife Swap as we want the series to reflect the face of
Britain today.
"Asian and Muslim communities are under-represented on British
television, and now is the perfect opportunity to change this.
"We would love to hear from the Muslim community, their thoughts,
suggestions and tips to get a Muslim Wife Swap off the ground.
"We want to represent the Muslim community in a positive light on
Wife Swap and hope that by featuring a Muslim family we can bring
more understanding to a large audience who know very little about
this faith."
If you are a Muslim family who would like to find out more about
applying for Wife Swap then contact Angela Roberts at RDF
