Get ready - it’s the slimming season
1/10/2001
Aslamu Alaykum readers.
Hope you are well. Ramadan will soon be upon us once again as will
Christmas.
So it's time to prepare for these occasions by shedding those
unwanted pounds to get into our favourite glad rags.
Lets look at the options.
Slimming pills, potions, slim shakes etc
There are a whole variety of slimming pills available in the high
street.
There are benefits to be had, providing you read the label and
combine it into your weight loss programme sensibly.
Body wraps
This is a salon system that gives the user inch loss in the first
few treatments.
Clay, seaweed or gel is applied to the body and then the body (or
part of the body) is wrapped. This system does give you quick
results but it is expensive.
Weight control hypnosis
This is not as bad as it sounds!
Hypnosis is defined as an altered state of consciousness in which
your logical mind reduces sufficiently to allow a state of focused
concentration - the alpha state.
For this treatment, you have to register with a qualified
practitioner and it can take a couple of sessions of therapy for it
to work it too could be an expensive treatment.
So is there a 'cure' that I can afford?
I firmly believe if one is to lose some weight without loosing
money then it is just a question of balance.
For example a well balanced diet consisting of salads, fresh
fruits, white meat, lots of fresh vegetables and water leads to a
healthier lifestyle.
This can be balanced with regular exercise at least three times a
week for about 20-30 minutes.
Exercise does not have to be in the form of aerobic classes and
visits to the gym.
It can be just as beneficial to take a brisk walk.
I hope I have given you some valuable information and I hope you
will take it on board. If you have any health-related queries,
please write to me at Asian News, Observer Buildings, Drake Street,
