Fast cars is the business

A PASSION for high performance cars has lead to four Oldham friends starting in the business of car hire and model facelifts.

The excited entrepreneurs wanted to stand out from the crowd and provide a 'unique' service to the market, especially for young people who dream of living life in the fast lane.

So pals, Asghar Mahmood, Abdul Baqui, Hafizur Harris and Rooful Khan (pictured right)  set up Evolution Cars on Ellen Street where they provide customers with top of the range exclusive models including a BMW M3, Porshe GT2 to exclusive Range Rovers and Lamborghinis.

Said Asghar: "Setting up the business was a dream come true for us all.

"We all have separate jobs as well but we do have one thing in common, we love cars.

"For many years we have been working with cars, either buying or selling, but mainly modifying them.

"There is a lot of demand from people who want their cars to look really sporty and all of us have some experience in that.

"So we decided to put our skills to use and open up our own business.

"At the same time there was also a demand from people who wanted to hire top of the range cars but didn't know where to go for this, and that’s where we come in."

Asghar says their business is 'unique' because often they get hold of models that nobody else has.

Even Top Gear producers got in touch because they were after the BMW M3 and Evolution Cars was the first in the country who had the model.

"We told the producers to wait until the next model came out, " said Abdul.

"They wanted ours for the review part of the show, and to be honest we didn’t want to let out one of our most popular cars to be used by Top Gear. In the end, the producers had to wait until the next model came out before they did the review.

"We were proud of the fact we had the first one to come out in the UK.

"We do try our best to get mostly exclusive prestige, sports and supercars.

"That’s what young drivers want, particularly for a special occasions like weddings or Eid."

Celebrities and footballers have also called on them for business.

Said Abdul: "We can't name anybody but we have had some well known celebrities and footballers who have come to us to hire a car.

"Our business is still very new but we seem to be going from strength to strength and that’s because we are all doing something that we love. When we go to work, it doesn’t feel like a job.

"Yes we do have a service that we are providing, but most importantly, we are fulfilling our dreams and doing something that we enjoy."

He added: "They say variety is the spice of life and here we do a number of things that keeps us on our toes from window tinting, modifying to offering valeting and chauffeur services. We are all trying to utilise our skills and offer something for everybody."
