Library's new archiving system

Mark Richardson
19/ 8/2008

A POYNTON company has been using its document imaging technology to help the British Library to store and approve over 3,000 purchase invoices a month.

Version One's system Db Archive has been integated into the British Library's Oracle E-Business Suite. It can be accessed by up to 2,000 staff through Oracle, or Version One's dedicated web browser.

Jayne Cove, who is the suite's business development manager, said: "The financial operations and business development team identified a need for document management and an opportunity to improve purchase invoice processing efficiency

"After a competitive tender process and an extensive evaluation exercise, the British Library decided upon Version One's DbArchive."

The DbArchive system images the purchase invoice using a Kodak i260 scanner and automatically links it to the record in Oracle, ending the need for staff to manually locate documents and speeding the approval process.
