Aditi bags a great business

HANDBAG crazy Aditi Chadha put her love of the fashion item to good use by basing a successful business around it.

Mother-of-three Aditi owns scores of handbags including a £8,000 Hermes model.

But the 31-year-old, who grew up in New Delhi, realised this top fashion accessory is beyond the financial reach of most women.

Drawing on her businessman husband's own experience she launched a company that hires out beautiful bags for a month a times.

Business at her Trafford Park-based firm 'Fashionhire' is booming - ironically part of the success is due to the credit crunch.

She Aditi, who has a daughter of seven and twin 10 month old boys: "In tighter times some women forgo buying a bag and turn to hire. Others hire a bag to see if they rally like it before buying one."

Aditi does not hire out the most expensive bags for fear she would never get them back.

"Our most expensive bag would cost £1,300 to buy and it two years we have only had two cases where the bag had not been returned. We do a credit chequer on all our customers before we hire to them."

Aditi says all ages, and ethnic group hire her bags. The next step will be to add jewellery to her hire range.

"But we won't be hiring out genuine diamond tiaras, just high fashion costume jewellery," quipped Aditi.
