HSBC appoints relationship manager

26/ 9/2008

HSBC Private Bank in Manchester has appointed relationship manager, Atiyah Zafar, to its Global South Asian Diaspora (GSAD) team.

Atiyah joins HSBC following three years at Barclays Wealth, where she specialised in investment and portfolio management.

In her new role, Atiyah will develop HSBC Private Bank’s UK domiciled and non-domiciled Asian client base across the north.

Said Atiyah: "The number of people who are unaware of their domicile status or not receiving the right wealth management or tax planning advice is still high.

"That said, the opportunity to be part of a team dedicated to helping individuals maximise their investment capabilities and wealth is an exciting challenge that I’m looking forward to."

Banking director at HSBC Private Bank, David Jones added: "With difficulties lingering in the markets and financial legislation frequently changing, high net worth individuals are especially keen to ensure that they are making the most of their money. Needless to say, the demand for top quality wealth management advice is higher than ever.

"Atiyah’s specialist GSAD knowledge is an excellent complement to our already thriving team in Manchester and we are certain that she will play an important role in developing the Asian finance arm of HSBC Private Bank."
