Festival first for Dilli chef

CHEF Mohammed Naeem is all fired up with success after being
named Chef of the Year in the Manchester Food and Drink
Festival.
Naeem weaves is culinary magic at the award winning Dilli
restaurant in Altricham, Cheshire.
He comes from a long line of master chefs and learned to cook in
Lucknow gaining more experience at five-star hotels in New Delhi
and the Punjab.
At the Dilli he has developed a healthy Ayurvedic menu under the
guidance of chef director Ravi Bajaj.
The restaurant is one of only three in the north west to be listed
in the prestigious Michelin Guide.
Said Naeem: "I am proud of being part of Ravi's team and to have
played a part in his vision of introducing genuine Indian cuisine
to north west customers who were more familiar with the westernised
versions of other restaurants."
Ravi and Naeem with be cooking Aloo Tikki - street food - at the
food festival during the second week from 10 to 16 October.
The Dilli has been nominated for the festival's best vegetarian
award.
