Oldham Borough a high risk for forced marriages

Stuart Greer & Michael Herbert
27/ 3/2008

OLDHAM Council has confirmed that 36 Asian pupils have seemingly vanished from school registers, raising fears that some of them may have become victims of forced marriages.

Oldham is one of 15 local authorities considered a ‘high-risk zone’ for the practice and was ordered to provide information to the Government on children missing from school registers as part of an investigation into forced marriages and domestic violence in the UK.

People seem to forget what happened to Ms SHAFILEA AHMED from Warrington, she was MURDERED and dumped in the lake district. She must have been MURDERED by people very close to her or someone who knows who carried out this terrible crime. Although CHESHIRE POLICE is still working on this case, Local councils should make all the schools aware of this terrible problem with-in the Asian communities. Asian pupils must know that Ms SHAFILEA AHMED was MURDERED and dumped, as if it did not matter to the family.
