Star students make grade

A STUDENT from Chadderton achieved a perfect set of GCSE results.
Preithy Kumar, 16, who is a pupil at Manchester High School for Girls, scored 10 A* grades, plus two A* grades for short courses in IT and religious studies.
Preithy (right), who will now join the school’s sixth form said: "When I opened my results envelope I was shocked but then overjoyed. Both parents and my teachers have been highly supportive and I am looking forward to joining the sixth form and possibly working towards a business or economics degree."
Another Oldham student who goes to the school outside the borough also made the grade.
Callum Brogan (right) recorded a clean sweep of nine straight A*s at Manchester Grammar School. After his A Levels,Callum from Den Lane, Oldham, wants to study law at university.
