WELL done ... Shawclough Primary School’s after-school club presented with a Rochdale Children Deserve Quality award

Quality club rewarded

AN AFTER-school club has been presented with an award for quality at the Town Hall.

Shawclough Primary School’s club won the Rochdale Children Deserve Quality award after passing strict criteria to mark out the best childcare providers.

Matthew Peluch, assistant training and quality manager from the learners and young people’s service, said: "The award ceremony was a great success.

"It’s brilliant that we are able to reward those people who are going above and beyond what they have to do and deliver an amazing service."

To receive the award the play and childcare providers had to supply evidence they were delivering a quality of service over and above the requirements of the Ofsted national daycare standards.

Training and quality manager Christine Lawton said: "They produced a really high standard of portfolios and received glowing reports for their assessment visits."
