Pupils in the pink for cancer fund

7/11/2007

YOUNGSTERS from Heybrook Primary School ditched their school uniforms for the day and donned their favourite pink clothes to raise money for breast cancer care.

Pupils from every year group dressed to impress and more than £173 was collected.

Hazel Garnett, a teaching assistant, said: “It was a brilliant day and we raised a decent amount of money.

“The children loved dressing in pink and even the boys made an effort, which pleased us.

“The teachers were also supporting the day and told the pupils about the importance of supporting good causes in assembly.”
