Due to popular demand for ESOL courses, provided by Bury Adult Learning Service, a new course called ‘English Summer School’ will start on Monday, 13 July for two weeks.
This short course is aimed at all levels and is designed to develop the learners' knowledge of life in the UK to help them become more active citizens, which may help with Home Office Citizenship applications.
The course contains citizenship materials and components that go towards an applicant’s leave to remain in the UK and the requirement of having to attend a recognised course for a minimum of 20 hours.
The Summer School placement will also guarantee the learner a place on the ESOL Skills for Life courses which starts in September.
The ESOL courses have helped students to go onto further study at college and university for qualifications in various subjects such as IT, accountancy, photography and maths as well as helping people to gain employment.
For more information or to enrol on the English Summer School course telephone 0161 253 5766.

All migrants must learn English language as early as possible so that they can communicate with the natives and find a suitable job for living. At the same time migrants must make sure that their childen not only learn English to follow the National Curriclum and go for higher studies and research to serve humanity but also learn their mother tongues to keep in touch wioth their cultural roots and enjoy the beauty of their litaerature and poetry. The schools they attend must make sure that there should be provision for learning their mother tongues with their bilingual teachers.
Bilingual Muslim children need state funded Muslim schools with bilingual Muslim teachers as role models during their developmental periods. There is no place for a non-Muslim child or a teacher in a Muslim school.
