Salford artist Farah in running for national advertising award

A SALFORD University student's artwork could soon be soon used in an international advertising campaign.

Farah Atcha won the north-west heat of Lloyd TSB's 'the art of nature' competition.

She will now be entered into the final in May in London against students from eight other regions.

The winner will see their artwork being used in international marketing, press advertising online campaigns by the bank.

The will also receive £3000 for themselves, £3000 for their university and will be offered an eight-week placement with an advertising agency.

Farah, aged 20, said: "Being selected to go forward to the national final means I'll be competing with the best students from across the UK and gives me the chance to have my work used in a high profile commercial environment.

"It's an opportunity that will stand me in good stead for my career."

Entries to the competition were judged by Clare Gannaway from Manchester Art Gallery, Dianne Murray from Arts and Business North-West, Jim Davies from DWF Solicitors and Christian Nouyou from marketing agency cchm:ping.
