Man attacked by gang

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a man was attacked in Rochdale.

The 42-year-old was assaulted by a group of between eight and 10 men on Trafalgar Street and was left with cuts on his head.

The attack took place in the early hours of Saturday, March 15, when the victim was involved in an argument with a group of men after leaving a pub.

A car pulled up and four more men got out and the attacked the victim, knocking him to ground and repeatedly punching and kicking him.

The attackers are described as being Asian and in their early twenties.

Detective Constable Ryan Grumbridge said: "The victim has suffered nasty injuries to his face and head as a result of this senseless attack.

"He could have suffered even more serious injuries and those responsible should be ashamed of themselves for kicking and punching a man when he was defenceless on the ground.

"I would appeal to anyone who witnessed any part of this incident to come forward as soon as possible."
