Men tried to kidnap woman

THREE men tried to kidnap a 42-year-old woman as she walked down a street in Bolton.
Police are appealing for witnesses after the woman was subjected to a terrifying ordeal between 10.45pm and 11.45pm on Tuesday.
The woman was walking on the pavement of Lever Street, Great Lever, when a car pulled up alongside her.
One of the three men inside the car shouted at her and the driver got out of the car, punched her in the mouth and grabbed her hair.
Another man, who was sitting in the back seat then helped the driver try to force the victim into the back of the car.
She was saved when a passer-by intervened and the car drove away.
Detective Constable Ged Earley of Astley Bridge CID said: "Fortunately the woman only suffered scratches and swelling to her right eye, but she has been left extremely shaken by this.
"I would urge anyone who has any information about this to contact us. I'd particularly like to speak to the man who helped this woman out as he did not leave his details and he may have crucial information to help us catch these offenders."
The men in the car are described as being Asian and in their early 20s. One was driving and the two others were sitting in the back seat of the car, which was red and possibly a new shape Vauxhall Astra.
