Dads show off their clean living

DADS have improved their food hygiene, thanks to Heybrook Children’s Centre.

Ten young dads graduated from the course and were presented with certificates in recognition of their achievements.

The course was led by Ann Holt, from Learn Local in Rochdale and arranged by Masuda Kabir, from the Family Learning Service, and Nazma Ahmed from Greenbank Children’s Centre.

It was promoted by the family learning service, Heybrook and Greenbank children’s centres.

Mohammed Saim, one of the graduates, said: "I am in the catering business so this course has been very useful for me.

"I would also like to do the level three and health and safety."

Muhammed Rafiq Chaudhury, another dad, said: "This is a nice course and I enjoyed it.

"I am interested in a first aid and health and safety course."

Catherine Ogilvie, the co-ordinator, said: "This food hygiene course was specifically aimed at dads, because we think it’s just as important for them to learn about food as it is for mums.

"It’s also great for us to be able to work in partnership with Heybrook Primary School.

"It was lovely to see so many dads in the centre and we hope that they will keep coming back."
