Rochdale Muslims mark Prophet's birthday

OVER 1000 Muslims marched through Rochdale town centre to mark the birthday of the Prophet Mohammed.
The celebration known as Milad - the Arabic term used to refer to the birthday of the Prophet - started at Jamia Chishti Mosque on Milkstone Road and the procession made its way through Drake Street and the town centre to Bilal Mosque on Bulwar Street where a special congregation was held.
The annual procession was organised by Rochdale based Crescent Community Radio who have been airing special programmes for a fortnight to commemorate the occasion.
