£300 raised for Christies

CHEADLE Muslims pulled on their football boots to raise money for Christies cancer hospital and Islamic Relief.
Member of the Cheadle Mosque congregation, Enam-ul-Haque organised the 'Beat the goalie' event with the help of Islamic Society Britain.
Despite the heavy winds, £300 was raised thanks to the successful penalty shoot-out tournament and the cake and samosa stall.
Said Enam-ul: "I want to thank everyone who helped out and also those who donated generously.
"The event was part of our ongoing community action project, which aims to break down barriers between communities and achieve a shared understanding.
"We have previously organised a park cleanup, gardening work for local neighbours and a healthcheck day."
