Bollywood comes to Didsbury
27/ 3/2008
PUPILS donned beautiful Indian costumes to perform a Bollywood dance.
Twelve youngsters from Moor Allerton Preparatory School in West Didsbury, Manchester took to the stage to perform Bhumbo, which means bumble-bee in Hindi.
The seven to 11-year-olds at the Barlow Moor Road school have been learning about Bollywood-style music and dancing in after-school classes with Mrs Rachna Tulsian.
Their five-minute performance of Bhumbro was showcased at an event called ‘A Celebration of Dance’, which was held the Britannia Country House Hotel on Palatine Road, West Didsbury.
Anuradha Ponnapalli, 11, said: “We’ve really enjoyed learning about Bollywood dancing.”
