Police hunt fraudster

19/ 5/2008

THIS is the man police believe is responsible for stealing a string of expensive courtesy cars in Rochdale.

Officers are investigating five bogus insurance claims between 2006 and 2007 where courtesy cars were supplied but never returned.

In each case the man gave false personal details to Ormskirk-based Direct Accident Management.

Constable Charles Stewart said: "These claims have been accepted by the company in good faith but have proved to be completely false.

"Those people responsible have deliberately defrauded the company and have effectively stolen a number of expensive cars.

"I would appeal to anyone who knows anything about the scam, or who can identify the person in the picture to come forward."

Contact Rochdale police station on 0161 856 8443 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
