CHADDERTON resident Abdul Malik-Ahad has been appointed the latest non-executive director on the NHS Oldham board.

The 35-year-old father of three is an executive director of Capital Consult Group, an Oldham-based company delivering consultancy and training services to the public and voluntary sector, and is chairman of local theatre company Peshkar Productions.

"Most of the work I’ve done since the age of 16 has involved working to improve people’s lives through community development, ranging from education to housing and regeneration, and arts," he said.

"I look forward to working with NHS Oldham to help deliver better health outcomes."

Abdul will be in post for four years with remuneration of £7,765 per annum.

NHS Oldham was formerly known as Oldham Primary Care Trust.
