A man has been jailed after more than £400,000 worth of heroin was seized during a raid in Oldham.
Ali Imran of Letham Street, Oldham, was convicted of possession of heroin with intent to supply following a trial on Friday 10 July 2009, sentenced to eight-and-a-half years in prison.
He will be deported once he has served his sentence.
On Wednesday 4 February 2009, a warrant was executed at Imran's home and officers discovered a hydraulic press, blender jugs, weighing scales, mixing agents and drugs packaging and a substantial amount of heroin later valued at more than £400,000.
Detective Constable Pete Nuttall, from the Neighbourhood Support Unit at Oldham, said: "This was a very serious case, which involved the recovery of a large amount of heroin.
"This house was used to manufacture and store drugs which were going to be distributed onto the streets of Oldham and Greater Manchester.
"This sentence sends out a powerful message that this type of behaviour will not be tolerated and anyone who plays a part in the distribution of class A drugs, regardless of whether you are simply looking after the drugs on behalf of someone else or directly involved in selling them, will be dealt with severely."
