CUSTOMERS at a takeaway had a lucky escape after a car smashed into the shop front.
Taxi drivers eating at Camel One in Rusholme dived for cover as the car hurtled towards them.
Dramatic CCTV footage shows the silver Audi A4 convertible smash into the entrance before rebounding head on into a parked black cab.
Two men climbed out of the driver's side window and ran off.
No one in the takeaway was seriously injured, but the smash caused about £15,000 of damage to the takeaway.
A man and a woman were treated for minor injuries at the scene and taken to Manchester Royal Infirmary.
Camel One manager Mushtaq Malik said: "Everyone in here was very scared. They ran to the back of the restaurant as they saw the car coming.
"Some thought it was a bomb blast or an explosion because the smash was so bad.
"We are in absolute shock. Thankfully everyone escaped and we're just glad everything is fine now."
Two fire crews were sent to the shop after the smash at at 6.40am on Sunday.
The takeaway had been full with taxi drivers who had just finished work.
Staff at the takeaway boarded up the shop front and it reopened last night.
