FIVE youths threatened to stab a teenager before stealing his phone and gold bracelet in Eccles.
The victim, aged 16, was near to the Duke of York pub with a friend at around 4.40pm on Sunday 15 November 2009, when they were approached by five youths who surrounded them and threatened to "stab them up".
One of the group then snatched a Samsung mobile phone from the victim and ripped a gold bracelet off his wrist.
The gang then ran off. One of the offenders is described as black, 5ft 4in tall and about 15 years old.
The other four are described as Asian and aged between 14 and 20.
Pc Mark Cole, from the Robbery Unit at Swinton, said: "The area was extremely busy and I am certain someone will have witnessed the robbery, even if they didn't realise it at the time.
"You may have thought the victims were part of the group when in fact they had been singled out and out numbered by this group of thieves.
"I would ask anyone who was in the area at the time to call police."
Anyone with information is asked to call the Robbery Unit on 0161 856 5250, or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
