School scores a century

A ROCHDALE school has celebrated its centenary in a special way - by putting on a show marking all the decades of the 20th century.
Children and staff at Brimrod Primary School spent weeks rehearing songs, dances and sketches for the show. They also made their own costumes and props and their efforts wee rewarded with full houses, which also included past pupils and teachers.
This is how the decades unfolded; 1900s Victorian classrooms, 1910s Titanic sketch, 1920s roaring twenties dance routine, 1930s inventions, 1940s World War Two, 1950s Elvis Presley, 1960s the Beatles, 1970s Abba routine and Saturday Swap Shop, 1980s Michael Jackson's Thriller, 1990s animated films and 2000 Millennium Song.
A live band entertained the audience with different songs from different decades.
Headteacher Lisa Walsh said: "The children and staff have worked hard. We feel that we have marked our 100th birthday in a fantastic way."
