Delight as new resource centre opens

A NEW resource centre which will serve the people in the Coppice area of Oldham has been opened by the Mayor, Councillor Riaz Ahmed.
The Coppice Bangladeshi Neighbourhood organisation (CBNU) centre is based on Lee Street.
Chairman Jomir Ali said: "We are delighted to be up and running and would like to extend our warm welcome to everyone in the area to make use of this centre."
The centre holds four computers which will be used for IT classes and will also act as an advice centre for local residents. Other projects in the pipeline at the Centre include a youth club, homework club and job club.
The centre will be run by unpaid volunteers. It will be funded by a combination of a regeneration grant, National Lottery cash and the Community Partnership Support Trust.
