Cherie - Why I love Asian culture

IN an exclusive interview with Asian News Cherie Blair paid
tribute to Asian women and spoke of her love of Asian
fashion.
Speaking in Manchester the Prime Minister's wife said Asian women
might not be militant feminists but they were independent minded
and were making it to the top in many professions.
She said: "Many like myself are also managing a family as well as a
career which I admire and respect.

"They are an asset to British society bringing with them great
qualities which should be valued as I, as well as my husband Tony,
certainly do."
Mrs Blair spoke to Asian News at a special Labour Party charity
dinner at the Saffron restaurant in Cheetham Hill,
Manchester.
She delighted guests, especially the women, by wearing violet blue
sequinned trouser suit - the height of Asian fashion - with kameez
top and 70s-style flared bottom.
Mother-of-three Mrs Blair said she loved the eastern look.
"Asian dress is so elegant and glamorous, especially saris," she
said.
"A friend in London designs my outfits including the one I'm
wearing tonight which is a mixture of east and west and so easy and
comfortable to wear yet very glamorous at the same time."
