A 12-YEAR-OLD schoolgirl threw herself out of a first floor
classroom window in front of shocked pupils after claiming she
could not take any more "intimidation" from a teacher.
Nadia Hussain, broke her ankle in the fall but was only given
"basic first aid" by staff at the school.
It was only after her mother collected her from Matthew Moss High
School, Rochdale and took her to hospital that the fracture was
discovered some two hours later.
Her angry mother, Bulkeis Hussain, is now demanding an apology and
wants the member of staff allegedly causing her daughter such
upset, prevented from teaching her in the future.
The school deny any intimidation or bullying by staff and claimed
Nadia was a "cheeky" pupil.
Year eight pupil Nadia claimed the teacher who was in the class
when she fell, looked out of the window, saw her lying on the floor
and told her "not to forget her detention."

Speaking in her Worcester Street home Mrs Hussain said: "Nadia has
told me for some time that she felt intimidated by this teacher who
she said gave her detention for no reason and was always telling
her off for no particular reason.
"Recently I went to the school and complained about this directly
to the teacher a day before the incident.
"The following day when Nadia was in class, she told me she was
being ignored and that she felt the teacher was giving her dirty
looks. Towards the end of the lesson she said just couldn't take it
anymore and jumped out of the window.
"I feel really angry that my little girl felt harassed in such a
away that she felt she needed to take such a dangerous step.
"I agree it was a stupid thing to do, but what really upsets me, is
that not a single teacher went out to see what had happened.
"Instead her school friends went out to help her back into school
and then she got told off for jumping. Nobody asked her why she did
it."
The school failed to call an ambulance or contact any outside
medical help. About an hour after the incident Mrs Hussain got a
telephone call from the school asking her to pick her daughter
up.
She took Nadia to the casualty department at Rochdale Infirmary
where her right leg was put in a cast.
Mrs Hussain added: "I'm disappointed with the school who dealt with
this matter unprofessionally. They still have not apologised. Nadia
wants to go back to the same school as her friends are all there,
but she just doesn't want to face that teacher again."
Headteacher Andy Raymer said he had been contacted by Mrs Hussian
and had investigated her complaint. He insisted there had not been
any intimidation or bullying of Nadia by any staff.
He added: "The student had let herself out of a window. She had
managed to climb out through the window, latched on to the ledge
and let herself down and ran off towards the back of the school
before going to her science lesson.
"When we finally found her she was limping and the school gave her
basic first aid before calling her mother to take her to
hospital.
"We also believe the incident had been pre-planned. Other students
have told us she had been talking about it a few days prior to the
incident."
